The reward rate for USDC held on Deribit is getting a boost for the rest of 2025. The first 250,000 USDC in each eligible account will receive rewards at the promotional rate of 7.5% APR. The promotional rate will be applied from today (18th November 2025) until the end of December 2025.
Deribit already pays rewards on eligible USDC funds held on the platform, and any funds over the 250,000 USDC threshold for the promotional rate will still receive rewards at the usual rate, currently set at 3.6% APR for November. Rewards are calculated daily and paid monthly. Rewards for November are estimated to be paid on the 9th of December. For more details, including a list of the jurisdictions that are not eligible for USDC rewards, see the knowledge base here.
Example 1: An account holds 100,000 USDC for the promotional period. As 100,000 is lower than the 250,000 threshold for the promotional rate, the full 100,000 USDC will receive rewards at the promotional rate.
Example 2: An account holds 400,000 USDC for the promotional period. The first 250,000 USDC will receive rewards at the promotional rate, and the remaining 150,000 USDC will receive rewards at the standard rewards rate.
Note that the rewards and threshold are applied to the total amount of USDC held across the entire account, including the main account and all subaccounts. So with regards to the total received, it doesn’t matter if the USDC is all held in the main account, or if it is spread across subaccounts. Boosted rewards will first be paid for any USDC held in the main account, then each subaccount will be checked one by one (oldest first) until the 250,000 USDC threshold has been reached. All other USDC will receive rewards at the standard rate.
Current basis trade rates
The basis in the dated futures has been moving lower since the price crash on the 10th of October. At time of writing, the annualised premiums of the dated futures contracts are topping out at just above 5%, with the shorter dates even lower. The promotional rate of 7.5% APR on USDC therefore represents a great opportunity to earn a better rate than is currently available trading the futures basis (a.k.a. cash and carry trades), without even having to lock up your funds.
To see up to date futures premiums, see this Deribit metrics page.
VIP fee levels
Deribit recently introduced automated fee tiers, one of which can be attained simply by holding at least 100,000 USDC in your Deribit account. Fee tier upgrades are processed once a day, so you could reach the VIP1 tier in as little as a day.
For more information on fees, including the discount tiers, see the fees page in the knowledge base.
Ready to deposit USDC?
With better than basis trade rates, potential fee discounts available, and the ability to use USDC as trading collateral, there has never been a better time to deposit USDC on Deribit.
It’s important to note that Deribit currently only supports the ERC20 version of USDC, so be sure to only deposit USDC via this method. The deposit page for USDC can be found in your account here.
USDC rewards are available to users in eligible jurisdictions. For a list of the jurisdictions that are not eligible for USDC rewards, see here. Also be aware that this list is different from the Deribit platform restricted jurisdictions list, which can be found here.
